Join us for a fundraising party for Kichwa Hatari, the first Kichwa-language radio program in the U.S., created by and for Kichwa people in diaspora. The night will feature live performances by Kaymantakuna (traditional Kichwa/Andean music) and DJ Mashi Misterio (Indigenous electronic beats), alongside dancing, art, and good energy.
This gathering is intentionally timed with the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII). While delegates, organizers, and kin travel from across the world to be in NYC for this international convening, we want to create a space outside of the formal setting—where Indigenous people can come together in joy, build relationships, share stories, and feel held in community. Proceeds from this event will go directly to supporting Kichwa Hatari’s work in language revitalization, media justice, and grassroots organizing.
